Time to Transform with Modern Education (TTME) is an Erasmus+ project (KA210-SCH) involving educational partners from Italy, Portugal, and Turkey, united by the common goal of promoting modern, sustainable, and inclusive school education. Running from March 2025 to June 2026, TTME primarily targets students aged 10 to 18, as well as primary and secondary school teachers.
The Challenges We Address
We live in an era where traditional education struggles to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world. Issues related to climate change, social inequalities, and gaps in scientific and digital skills make it necessary to rethink educational models. TTME was born to address these challenges by proposing an innovative approach that integrates:
- STEAM education: To foster interdisciplinary learning and strengthen students’ creativity and critical thinking.
- Environmental education: To promote ecological awareness and a sense of responsibility toward the planet.
- Inclusion and diversity: To build welcoming school environments that respect cultural, social, and individual differences.
Our Goals
TTME aims to achieve concrete, measurable results:
- Increase students’ understanding of the interconnectedness of STEAM disciplines by 30%.
- Enhance the pedagogical skills of at least 90% of participating teachers in adopting the STEAM approach.
- Integrate STEAM principles into at least 75% of the curricula of partner schools.
- Engage 80% of students in climate change-related activities, with a 25% improvement in their environmental awareness.
- Reduce discrimination incidents by 40% and increase student participation in inclusion and diversity initiatives by 50%.
Key Activities
The project is structured around three main thematic areas through specific training events (LTTAs):
- Inclusion (Italy, November 2025): Seminars on personalized education models, workshops on equity and tolerance, and the use of digital technologies for inclusive education.
- STEAM (Portugal, 2026): Interdisciplinary workshops, teacher training, hands-on student activities, and best-practice exchanges among schools.
- Environment and Climate Change (Turkey, 2026): Educational activities on sustainability, creation of digital materials, and integration of the European Green Deal principles into school programs.
Partners
The project is coordinated by Istituto Comprensivo Francesco Vivona (Italy), with support from:
- Ozel Antalya Lara Bahcesehir Okullari (Turkey): A secondary school with strong expertise in STEAM and project-based learning.
- Agrupamento de Escolas Dr. Serafim Leite (Portugal): A school actively engaged in environmental education and promoting inclusion.
- Avrupa Yenilikçi Toplum Derneği – EISA (Turkey): An educational NGO with extensive experience in European projects and teacher training.
Expected Outputs
During the project, an annual journal will be published, collecting stories, reflections, and firsthand experiences from students and teachers, offering an authentic look at the results achieved. Students will also have the opportunity to create over videos showcasing STEAM activities, while teachers will produce instructional video lessons designed to inspire and guide fellow educators.
Additionally, practical guides on school inclusion will be developed, alongside a handbook of environmental best practices, which will be distributed to schools and educational networks. To maximize outreach, the project will organize public events, local workshops, and online campaigns, aiming to engage and raise awareness among over 10,000 people across Europe.
Our Impact
TTME aims to leave a lasting mark not only on the participating institutions but on the European education system as a whole. By promoting innovative teaching practices, transversal skills, inclusivity, and active citizenship, the project helps shape better-prepared students, more aware teachers, and more resilient school communities.
