The Istituto Comprensivo “Francesco Vivona” is a public school located in Calatafimi-Segesta, in the province of Trapani, Sicily. It comprises five campuses across the towns of Calatafimi-Segesta and Vita, and provides education from pre-primary to lower secondary level (ages 3 to 14). The school community includes around 607 students and 138 including teachers and staff.
Our mission is to promote academic excellence while fostering the personal, social, and emotional development of all students. We strive to offer an inclusive and motivating learning environment, where each student feels safe, respected, and encouraged to grow.
Our educational vision is deeply aligned with the values of the Erasmus+ Programme: we promote European citizenship, digital transformation, sustainability, and social inclusion.
We strongly believe in modern, student-centered education that develops transversal competences such as critical thinking, creativity, digital literacy, communication, and
collaboration.
We integrate innovative tools and methods into our daily teaching practices, including the use of immersive classrooms, a podcast lab, science labs, and digital platforms. We also offer a wide range of extracurricular activities that support students’ talents and teamwork skills, such as music, sports, and creative workshops.
Through this KA210 project, we aim to strengthen our capacity to innovate and collaborate with European partners. “Time to Transform in Modern Education” represents a valuable opportunity to exchange good practices, explore digital and inclusive pedagogies, and make our school more open to Europe.
